Antiquing is one of my favorite things to do and I get a lot of crafting ideas as I roam through the aisles stuffed full of vintage objects that bring back lots of old memories for me! From old colors (teal blue) to old patterns (red Scotch design), old beach pails, bakelite jewelry, old game pieces, buttons, match books, bottle caps, stars made from wire, vintage knives and spoons and many other seemingly useless, worn out things (giant spools), I find inspiration galore. I'm in the quaint town of South Haven, Michigan this summer, antiquing and visiting with my best childhood friends, it can't get any better than this:) AND, there's a great antique place across the street called Murphy's Antique Mall. Some of the "crafted" vintage finds make me chuckle (the beer bottle fish) and my treasure hunting experience is only heightened by the 1960's "elevator music" playing in the background! You can bet that there will be new lullubee craft kits "born" from my summer antiquing adventures. So "put your thinking caps on" and come along with me up and down the aisles to look at the antiques and ephemera and see what crafting possibilities we can come up with!

A fabulous strole! I fell in love with the vintage beach pails, the kitty lamp, fiesta ware pottery, and bottle cap collection. My son loves to collect those and it reminds me of when I was little. We used to melt crayons with a lighted match (much less parental supervision in my day) and drip the colors into the caps to give them some weight for playing and a cool design. Oh, the simple pleasures of a city kid’s summer :)
